Madurodam \u2013 a perfect add-on to the visit of Holland
\nWhat\u2019s one of the best possibilities to get an insight into Holland\u2019s history and culture? The answer is Madurodam, a miniature park in the Hague, which is a major tourist attraction open 365 days a year. It features miniature 1:25 scale replicas of the most famous Dutch castles, industrial projects and public buildings, showcasing Dutch history. Here, you can travel back in time, while enjoying an interactive hands-on experience.
\nThe park was opened back in 1952 and since then more than 50 million tourists have visited it \u2013 no wonder, the park is pure fun for visitors of all ages \u2013 you can even load a container onto a cargo ship in the miniature port of Rotterdam. What is more; the park is not only a major tourist attraction, but also a monument to George Maduro, a Dutch student, who repelled the German attack on the Hague during WWII. The revenue from the attraction goes to Madurodam Support Fund Society for children in need.
