Portugal & Spain Taster

Day 1: Lisbon

Arrive at the airport and meet with your tour guide. After lunch, proceed with the tour that covers most of the city’s highlights, including the UNESCO World Heritage site of Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Tower and the Monument to the Discoveries. Walk through Alfama, the oldest and the most picturesque area of Lisbon and see Europe’s longest suspension bridge, the Bridge of 25 April.

Day 2: Sintra

After breakfast, drive to Sintra along the coast picturesque Estoril, where Ian Fleming (author of the James Bond series) hit on the idea for the Casino Royale. Sintra Palace is the best preserved mediaeval Royal Palace in Portugal and part of the Cultural landscape of Sintra, designated World Heritage Site by UNESCO. In the late afternoon, transfer to Cascais and dinner at the beachside area of Cascais.

Day 3: Lisbon – Madrid

Flight to Madrid after breakfast, followed by the lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards visit the 3000-room Royal Palace and Prado Museum, one of the world’s greatest galleries with wealth of art.

Day 4: Madrid – Toledo- Madrid

After breakfast, proceed to Toledo, a unique city, which features Arab, Jewish, Christian and even Roman and Visigothic elements. Visit Sato Tome Church which houses El Greco’s most famous painting and Mudejar Apse Mosque and Cathedral. After lunch proceed to shopping at La Roca Factory Outlet.

Day 5: Madrid – Barcelona

Proceed to Atocha Train Station depart to Barcelona. After Lunch, visit the Olympic Stadium (Estadi Olympic) and Spanish Village, displaying the building styles typical for the various provinces of Spain.

Day 6: Barcelona

Visit the highlights of Barcelona, including Parque Guell, which was commissioned by Eusebi Güell who wanted to create a stylish park for Barcelona aristocracy, and Sagrada Familia, Antoni Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece. The tour will end with the farewell dinner at a typical local restaurant.
