The fact that Slovenia is a rising star among the “undiscovered” destinations, has encouraged hoteliers and other accommodation providers to start with extensive renovations and even new investments. The visit to Slovenia will thus be even more pleasant.
Tourism is booming in Slovenia. The country has been in the spotlight after receiving awards in a number of fields: some praise the sustainability and green tourism, other food and cuisine. One thing is clear: this country definitely has a bright future ahead. But the rather sweet “negative” consequence is that the number of beds needs to be increased and outdated hotels refurbished, if Slovenia wants to keep up and stay in the game when it comes to boutique tourism, which is recently a quite popular term among the Slovenian tourism provider. Rikli Balance Hotel
In April, the revamped Golf Hotel now known as the new Rikli Balance Hotel, has opened its doors in Bled.The hotel now focuses on promoting healthy lifestyle, following the tradition of Swiss natural healer Arnold Rikli, who founded a natural spa in Bled back in 1854 and laid the foundations for spa tourism in Slovenia. Refreshed culinary offer, thermal pools and wellness, combined with design rooms that tell stories about the Carniolan Bee, the Gingerbread Heart, the Embroidery of Gorenjska, the Spruce from the nearby Pokljuka and Arnold Rikli, offer guests a complete private or business break.
Termalija FAMILY FUN & RELAX complex at Olimia spa
Olimia Spa Olimia Spa is a popular destination for health and wellness seekers, located in south-eastern part of Slovenia. This year, the company has invested 10 million Euro into revamping the Termalija Wellness centre, which now represents a completely new aspect of water adventures and fun for the whole family. Architecturally fascinating interior boasts numerous diverse structures, including a magnificent water oasis, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and an amateur theater with a large area for children to have fun. The highlight of the experience is the adventurous FUN & SPLASH slide and the climbing wall above the pool with waterfalls.
Another iconic hotel got a new look. In April, the magnificent Grand Hotel Bernardin, a five-star hotel on the Slovenian coast, has reopened, after being closed down for renovation in December last year. Its unique position on the cliff has for decades offered outstanding views of the sea and a superior hotel experience, along with one of the largest congress centre facilities in the country. The interior of rooms has totally been revamped and represent an icing on the cake when staying at this impressive hotel.
