A Christmas Market You Don’t Want to Miss!

A good way to keep yourself warm during the cold winter season is to indulge all your senses with the warmth of the Christmas celebrations, and no better way to do it than taking a stroll around one of the many Christmas Markets in Europe, in particular,  our favourite magical Reiterlasmark.

It is held every year within the walls of the centuries-old small German city of Rothenburg, where the town gates separates it from the hustle and bustle of cosmopolitan cities like Berlin, and brings you to a fairytale land, covered with twinkling lights, aromas of roast chestnuts and mulled wine. Exploring the city alone is an adventure on its own, a place where culture and arts are hidden in every corner and history in its impressive medieval architecture. It is also where you can find the Käthe Wohlfahrt’s Christmas Village with the largest selection of German Christmas decoration in the world, open all-year-round.

The market is one tradition that hasn’t changed much since they started celebrating the Advent Festivities in the 15th century, and this year, it will be held from 25th of November to 23rd of December. During the same period, the city also hosts many cultural events and Christmas treats, like the original Rothenburg Snowball. Visitors can also enjoy the wonderful view from the Town Hall Tower on Fridays and Sundays and take beautiful Christmas-cards-like pictures.
