Seine Experience the Normandy

Is the Eiffel Tower the way of life or a piece of art? This could lead into never-ending discussions, but one thing is for sure: Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And the water view makes it even more wonderful. The Seine River and the many bridges with all the little stories are more than romantic. It seems, as if Seine had adapted itself to the laissez-faire of the Parisians, as it flows slowly to Normandy, the landscape named after the “North Men”, the Vikings, who came here about 1,200 years ago. The river flows past the flowering meadows and dense forests towards Rouen – the city where Jeanne d’Arc, nicknamed “the Maid of Orléans”, was burnt at the stake. Written records of the city’s 2,000-year history are extremely interesting, which explains why Normandy has been depicted in countless works of art. You will experience this on your own skin, as you will not be able resist taking photos, as if you tried to keep these breathtakingly beautiful spots in your memory forever. Let it be the magical garden of Claude Monet or the charming Château Bizy, also called the Little Versailles. Not to mention the culinary temptations, with cheese leading the way. Try it for yourself!

Itinerary

Day 1: Paris, until 19:00

Say hello to Paris, the City of Lights! Treat yourself with a welcome cocktail and make a plan for the upcoming trip.

Day 2: Rouen, till 15:00

Relax in the sauna and let your everyday worries slowly leak from your body. Shortly, you will see the Cathedral of Rouen. Discover the city of the hundred bell towers and explore the winding alleys of the town. The Tarte Tatin has been delicious, but now it’s time for a tasty dinner on board. Accompanied by a glass of wine and enchanting views, of course.

Day 3: Rouen – 13:30 and Caudebec till 18:00

Flower meadows, apple trees and limestone cliffs in golden light, while you chat with your fellow travelers. If you wish, treat yourself with a massage, champagne and fruit – this is for sure the quickest way to feel rejuvenated. And you’re already in Caudebec.

Day 4: Caudebec, until 18:00

A shore trip to Honfleur on the Seine estuary. Ports don’t come any prettier than this one. Glorious historic houses jostle for position on the quays, as do galleries and restaurants. You will stroll along these picturesque houses, which inspired also Monet and Boudin.

Day 5: Les Andelys, 09:00 – 12:00

About 800 years ago, the guards in the fortress above Les Andelys would not have allowed us to pass the security check so easily. Today we hike along the beautiful limestone cliffs and spend a sunny day in the pretty streets of the small town.

Day 6: Vernon, 01:00 – 17:00

The selfie in front of Claude Monet’s water lily pond in Giverny is a must! How magnificent. The famous garden from the Monet’s picture becomes true!

Day 7 and 8: Paris, 06:00 – Disembarkation

Bonjour, Paris! Some head for shopping and some join us on the tour of the Center Pompidou, an inspiring Contemporary Art building. For the evening the concierge arranges the tickets for a cabaret at the Lido. How wonderful! The next day, at the Café de Flore, we simply enjoy the magnificent atmosphere of the area. How many great minds and artists have been here! You can almost feel them. Paris is really champagne for the soul!
